Emily MacDonald

Emily MacDonald

Senior Chartered Physiotherapist - Women's Health (Fully HCPC Registered)

Emily graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2017, earning both a BSc Honours and a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy. Following graduation, she spent a year practicing in New Zealand before returning to the UK, where she has since gained diverse clinical experience within NHS Scotland and England.

Early in her career, Emily rotated through various specialties, which provided her with invaluable breadth of experience. However, her passion soon led her to specialise in Women’s Health Physiotherapy. She is deeply committed to supporting women through the physical changes and demands of pregnancy and postnatal recovery, understanding firsthand the challenges many face when striving to return to their pre-pregnancy fitness levels.

Emily is dedicated to delivering a positive, empowering, and proactive approach to care, aimed at improving women’s quality of life. Her expertise lies particularly in pelvic health and postnatal rehabilitation, where she focuses on educating and supporting new mothers. She strives to ensure that each woman feels heard, understood, and equipped with the knowledge and confidence to embrace a healthy and optimistic future.

It’s never too late to seek a pelvic health physiotherapy review.

While many women are referred during pregnancy or shortly after birth, pelvic health concerns can arise months—or even years—later. Whether you are dealing with bladder or bowel symptoms, prolapse, abdominal separation, or simply want to return safely to exercise - Emily welcomes women of all stages of life who may benefit from a personalised and compassionate pelvic health assessment.

Having grown up in the Highlands, Emily has now returned home, and we are delighted to welcome her as the lead for our new Women’s Health service launching on 30th June 2025. This service is designed to support women throughout pregnancy and their journey into motherhood.
